As I read this book could not help but just hear the words as Dr G were speaking them herself Mark did a wonderful job at articulating in Dr G s fashion and I really appreciated his excerpts as well This book had me laughing crying anxious excited and optimistic I have only read 2 other books from front to back in my life Pete Rose s My Prison Without Bars and Josh Hamilton s Beyond Belief I will uickly discard a book if it doesn t peak my interest and one could say I m rather choosy with what I place my interest in As the parent of a patient who was in the cardiovascular ICU at the very hospital which is the setting for this book I can vouch that this story is not sensationalized in any way it s just that incredible Dr G was my daughter s open heart surgeon She operated on my daughter Fayelen in the ice storm of February 2011 in Dallas It was somewhat of a nightmare which lead us to Dallas so I was a bit edgy already and circumstances declined Through my crazy heart mom moments Dr G remained composed and compassionate and didn t hold it against me or my little Angel It s been almost 7 years and the repair that Dr G made on my daughter s heart is still holding wonderfully and of course it is because Dr G did it Any time a professional sees my daughter s echos they almost always comment on the beautiful job that Dr G did on my daughter I ve seen some gnarly looking open heart surgery scars on children and my daughter s is barely noticeable and I ll never forget Dr G telling us that she took caution and attempted to place Fayelen s incision as low as possible since she was female This still brings tears to my eyes thinking about the 360 degree thoughtfulness of Dr GThis book is 5 times worth the money and I recommend it for the education to be found in it as well as the hope that it instills 5 stars two thumbs up and eternal gratefulness are what I have to offer in review of this book Rescue Ninja RN: Nurse Journal, College Ruled Lined Paper, 120 pages, 6 x 9 up to the climactic ending this book will entertain you with the real life wit humor and dram.
