I m an active 70 year old and I like to encourage my peers to exercise I also like to read about exercise and extract the bits that I deem relevant to my age group based on my 20 years of progressing my own fitness To be honest most of the time authors don t actually understand the fundamentals of what 60 and 70 year olds need in a fitness program they just rehash fads This book is totally different It s fantastically practical while also containing the links to theory that s my kind of book You just know when you are reading it that if you do as they say then things will improveI also love their section on Motivation where they strongly advise to start with much less than you think that you can accomplish It s easy to get excited about this book and plan out a program which inevitably becomes a burden They recommend consistency over uantity and the to start with a few of the exercises and built up over timeI also really like their chapter on Programming to Overcome Poor Posture and the section on Ordering of Exercises That changed the entire order of how I now do things at gym I m a big fan of resistance training interval training functional training and progression And I also do a big warm down This book gave me new insights into everything I am doing in my fitness activities not just posture and I 110% recommend it
